Get to Know Us

Dr Chris Barham

Toowoomba Location

Growing up with a father who was a chiropractor, Dr Chris Barham was raised with chiropractic care and a lifestyle centred on creating and optimising health naturally. He admired his father’s approach to care and involvement in the community and always knew he would follow in his father’s footsteps. In fact, he is one of five siblings, all of whom are chiropractors!

Chris attended RMIT Melbourne, graduating with a degree in chiropractic in 1983. He worked alongside his father and ultimately took over Barham Chiropractic when his dad retired. In addition to caring for patients, Chris has been involved in the chiropractic profession as an educator, author, association officer and member of the board of directors of New Zealand Chiropractic College. He’s passionate about his profession and the people he helps.

With several practice locations throughout South East Queensland, Chris has mentored over 70 chiropractors over the course of his career.

As a new chiropractor, Chris focused on the biomechanical aspects of care. Over his decades in practice, his perspective has transformed into the belief that health is a journey rather than a destination. Helping patients get out of pain is simply the first step in awakening their understanding that long-term health is something they can help create through every choice they make.

Chris is dedicated to helping families feel and function their best through every age and stage of life. Offering care for patients from one day to one hundred years old, the goal for everyone is optimal functionality and wellness.

Chris and his wife Jane, a physiotherapist, have been active in the community for over forty years. They have two kids and three grandkids and enjoy spending time with their family as well as gardening, exercising and reading.

Somewhat more out of the ordinary, Chris breeds thoroughbred racehorses that have run in some of the biggest races in the world. He even received a trophy from the Queen once!
